Good food and Wicken Fen

It was lovely and sunny and we headed out for some superior food foraging at firstly Finchingfield post office which does good fruit and veg from London and home made pies! Then to Linton to the Jigsaw Bakery ( I had texted our order of sourdough and seeded in advance - too many times disappointed ) we joined the jolly queue outside and smelt the wafts of fresh bread!! Two rather laden bags later and on to Wandlebury for some lunch of soup and some goats cheese to bring home. Then on to Wicken Fen - these pictures are of the woods men's cottage - and out door privy which simon was most interested in.

Hallo Flora, Lovely pics. There was a practically identical loo at my great aunt's house in White Roding. Anne and I were not that keen on using it being proper little townies but no choice. I didn't mind the acutual facilities, but kept a look out for the very large spiders which always seemed to be looking down at me. The loo roll was made of squares of the local village papers. Have been to Wicken Fen many moons ago. The pic of the golden stubble/grass is great. Love Auntie June xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
