It was a rather cold and very windy day and the tour (which was detailed) took 1hour and a half but we learnt a lot about the Thesham family who were devote Catholics involved in the gunpowder plot!! This building was never finished and was vandalised by cromwells men. Many bullet holes for target practice. It was just a hunting lodge. The real big house was recently bought by the National Trust and will be available to view in the future. We had ginger and carrot cake.
