Today I made these dishes. The legs were a bit fiddly. It's a new idea so we shall see. Watch this space. For those of you who didn't realise they are upside down.

Today I turned the following items.

Madam with new scarf and hairband eating mince pie.

Poor Simon has been poorly with a cold but has time to relax in front of the fire with a mince pie.

Sunday afternoon/evening is one of our favourite times of the week. Here we are completing a wentworth puzzle kindly lent to us by Granny Ant (Thank you we enjoyed!)

A rather good drink at Jamies!

Came to Cambridge to go to the Anglian Potters Exhibition. Afterwards Emily very kindly treated me to a Jamie Cocktail. Lemon liquer and mint and other delicious stuff! It was just lovely!

Hurrah for the Lion House Gallery!!!!

Yesterday I delivered 16 bowl items to the wonderful gallery. It was the most lovely experience as we all (Lizzi - (gallery owner, Jane- wonderful assistant, Paul - other owner and Serena - photographer) were taken out to lunch in the Swan Hotel.

Here is my work set on the "magic table! (Magic because apparently everything always sells in this position in the gallery) Yes it works not half a day gone when 5 bowls and 1 necklace sold!

Bardfield Acoustic Club

So after another hectic day we all went to the Bardfield (Folk) Acoustic Club run by the most lovely Anna and Ray.

Here is Josie at a most lovely grand piano on stage in the High Barn. She sang beautifully "Mad World" and "Fix You" . A man in the audience called Chris tried to book her for this Sunday!

Josie says she wants to go to every one! We love it! I even sang "Lucca" and "Til Tomorrow".

(click on that link mummy). She is swedish and plays the Nikaharper (national swedish folk instrument). You can see it in the photos below.

Oh yes Vicki from the Gleowien is knitting and selling 400 hats in order to buy herself another nikaharper! So I had to buy one!

Flat out to deliver to the Blue Egg!

The day started with an egg. Having watched Giles Coren and Sue Perkins try their hand at self sufficiency we were inspired to have boiled eggs! Simon is concerned about the number of photos of him on this blog. Josie is miffed that she doesn't get cooked breakfast! You can't please everyone.























Matilda finds a new chair to sleep on! Well until Simon packs it.

So I have to do some marketing. At break neck speed I draw a logo and write some copy!

The wire heart frame I bought in Saffron Walden market works a treat to display my hearts.

Here is the finished look that I took to the Blue Egg. They seemed very happy with the look.

Here are my new kiln shelves which I have just put bat wash on them so that if any glaze falls on to them I can get it off.

Just Monday!

It's Monday. For those of you who think I just lounge about all day. This is what I have done (its about typical for me):

1) Made pancakes for breakfast
2)Tidied kitchen and cleaned sink
3)Tidied studio
4) Loaded new kiln for bisque firing
5) Slip decorated cups (see later picture)
6) Threw two largish bowl and large plate
7) Made Nigel Slaters Turkey/mushroom/pumkin dish (see photo below)
8)Made tea
9) Had a bath (a bit tired now)
10) Did my blog!!

Here is the pumpkin which didn't managed to do! I am using it in tonights supper instead of a mash potato topping!

Here is the dish itself. It's like a shepherd's pie made with turkey and pumkin! Here it is waiting to be finished off in the oven.

Her is Matilda who misses no opportunity to sit on a new arrived box!

Here is how we have tea (not always with a tablecloth but always tea at 4.10 when Josie gets home. Today there is no homemade cake. Just fruit bread or crumpets. Josie had hers with brandy butter!

Hearts and more Hearts!

So yesterday and today I have been working on some new hearts. Production has improved by the use of cutters and painting in blocks. With three outlets I need to be more efficient. Am waiting on kiln silts to arrive - at the moment I can only fire 16 at a time.

Here are my new designs all fired. I am very pleased with them. Unfortunately my camera doesn't like to do closeups (they come up blurred) so I can only really do wider shots at present.

Finished items

Here are all my bowls I have produced. I put them together to decide what might go to the gallery.

Each one I have built a relationship with so it is hard to part with them. However as Simon's says I can always make more.

Here are my three "french" coffee mugs (still in production) as commissioned by the gallery. I was concerned how the handles might be but really enjoyed attaching them. I like them a lot.

He is my wonderful little kiln. He is so good and
works so hard for me!

Here is my wonderful wheel. Simon replaced the broken window (which is not horridly frosted like the others) so that light shines in and also the cat likes to watch. Actually Matilda likes to come in on a daily basis. She stands outside the door and mews until let in and then walks around and then scratches the carpet! At this point she is ask to leave!




Here is fantastic press my wonderful mother found for me!! I just love it and it works brilliantly.

Here is a rather poor photo of my first print. It is so much better in real life. Infact if you are reading this you will probably get one for Christmas.
